Up Helly-Aa
Viking Descendents in the Shetland
Islands annually celebrate their Heritage with the Up Helly-Aa
festival. The event celebrates Vikings and Valhalla, the Hall of
immortality, where souls of heroes slain in battle are received.
This incredible event takes most of the year to prepare for. It is a
culture thing that has a family and community bonding effect –
unique – very special – the Shetlanders are a very proud people &
rightly so.
This track is primarily an instrumental
with a couple of words thrown in for effect. The track starts
with a simple and beautiful piano melody in Dm then shifts to a D
for the core of song – then back to Dm near the end. Throughout I’ve
added some nice melody lines. The track builds up with power and
soul toward the end (a bit like the festival) with strong orchestral
themes and cross melody Guitar. |
